Pacific And Asian Affairs Council Banquet

Saint Louis Drama Opening Night Gala

First Hawaiian International Auto Show

VIP gathered March 21 for a preview of the March 22-24 First Hawaiian International Auto Show at Hawaii Convention Center. A highlight for attendees was the chance to win $100,000. A crowd assembled every two hours during the show to watch a contestant select from 295 money bags, which had been placed in a Maserati. The $100,000 Giveaway Contest was sponsored by show title sponsor First Hawaiian Bank and the Hawaii Automobile Dealers Association.

BIA Stew Challenge

BIA-Hawaii hosted its annual Membership and Legislative Night Stew Challenge March 20 in the courtyard at St. Andrew’s Priory. Guests had the opportunity to meet Hawaii’s legislators and taste the building industry’s best stews, as well as vote for their favorite. The stew team with the most votes earned a “people’s choice” prize, and the top three teams, judged by professionals in the food industry, won monetary prizes.

Hawaii Lodging and Tourism Association, Honolulu Star-Advertiser and the state Department of Education honored 41 recipients of the ninth annual Citizenship Awards April 11 at Pacific Beach Hotel. Hawai’inuiakea School of Hawaiian Knowledge at UH-Manoa celebrated its fourth annual I Ulu I Ke Kumu Awards and dinner March 23 at Halau ‘o Haumea at Kamakakuokalani Center for Hawaiian Studies. The event honors prominent Hawaiian leaders for their commitment and excellence in Native Hawaiian education.
